How should we think about the term “Christ”? Christian denominations believe the term is a synonym for Jesus. Mary Baker Eddy writes, “The word Christ is not properly a synonym for Jesus, though it is commonly so used.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 333)

Our topic will be explored through the lens of Christian Science by considering references from Mary Baker Eddy, and statements from the Gospels and Paul. 

Mrs. Eddy writes, “Christianity is the summons of divine Love for man to be Christlike — to emulate the words and the works of our great Master.” (“Address to the Concord Church, February, 1899,” The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 148)

Why is this topic so important to comprehend? According to Mrs. Eddy, we will learn how to heal as the Master did.
