God, the Great Physician (Mis. 151:13-14)

God, the Great Physician (Mis. 151:13-14)

This 7-week online eCourse will discuss ‘God as our great Physician.’ Mary Baker Eddy once asked, “What is the best way to bring about instantaneous healing?” In our sessions, we will search for an answer to this question through a study of biblical accounts of healing, illustrated in the life of Christ Jesus. We will learn what the Gospels reveal as Jesus’ methodology of healing, and we will glean what made Jesus such a successful spiritual healer. We will also discuss how Mrs. Eddy’s healing work, and the demonstrations of pioneer workers in the Christian Science movement, prove that Jesus’ healing methodology can be practiced today with the same success – all the while knowing that God is our “great Physician” (Miscellaneous Writings 151:13-14).

Looking closely at the theme of grace in the Scriptures, we will gain a deeper understanding of its meaning not only for first-century Christians but for us today. How often do we read those comforting words in the Bible – “Grace be unto you”? The phrase is found many times in Paul’s epistles as part of his greeting to the Christian community.
